In the middle of the book, Percy, Grover, and Annabeth encountered Echidna, the terrible Mother of Monsters. Echidna had a chimera that was disguised as a chihuahua. Grover and Annabeth went down the swipe and tuck while Percy fought the vicious chimera. The chimeras tail hit Percy and he was evil very badly. Percy after caught up to Grover and Annabeth and they were finally free of the chimeras path.
